Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Baladi Map, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

Use of Service

Baladi Map is a civic accountability platform for reporting problems that Lebanon's municipalities are responsible for. You may use the service to report genuine problems in your area, track their resolution, and participate in community discussions.

User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit. By posting content, you grant Baladi Map a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and use your content in connection with the service. All reports must be truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge. Photos you send as proof of a repair may be blurred before publication and are published only after a person has reviewed them; refused photos are deleted.

Issue Reporting and Verification

All submitted issues require admin approval before being published. We reserve the right to decline submissions that:

• Are inaccurate or misleading
• Do not include the required information (location and category)
• Contain inappropriate content
• Are duplicate reports of existing issues

Issue Status

• A published report starts as Open.
• A municipality can mark it Noted or In progress, reply publicly, send a photo of the repair, or say it is another body's responsibility. Baladi Map confirms such a referral before the report leaves the municipality's numbers.
• Anyone can send a photo saying a problem is fixed. The report then shows as "repair reported" until a person at Baladi Map has checked the photo.
• Only Baladi Map publishes Fixed, after reviewing a photo of the repair. Photos are blurred before publication, and refused photos are deleted.
• We do not guarantee that a municipality will respond, or how quickly a problem is fixed.

Voting

• You may vote "I'm affected" on any issue once per account, or once per device if you are not signed in
• Voting is intended to show genuine impact. Please do not vote on issues that don't affect you
• We reserve the right to remove fraudulent votes

Sharing What You Are Proud Of

A post about something good in your town must be true and about a public place, a public work or a community initiative. Credit the town, the municipality or a team. Do not name mayors, council members, candidates or political parties, do not use a post for a campaign, and do not promote a business, a product or an offer. Do not name private people. Every post is reviewed before it is published, and Baladi Map may shorten or correct its wording, remove a photo, decline it, or take it down at any time. It is not for fixing a reported problem: a repair is confirmed on the report itself. A municipality's thank-you under a post is public and attributed to the municipality.

Municipal Desks

A municipality may hold a desk on Baladi Map only through an official who has proved their role to us. By using a desk, the municipality agrees that everything done from it is public and attributed to the municipality: acknowledgements, public replies, referrals and their reasons, photos of repairs once published, and thank-yous under residents' posts. Proof of a repair must show the actual work, and a referral must be made in good faith. The desk cannot be used to remove, edit, or hide reports, and Baladi Map alone publishes Fixed. The email address a council enters for alerts must be its own. We may revoke a desk at any time, in particular when it is used by someone without authority or against these terms.

Prohibited Conduct

You may not submit false or misleading reports, send a photo as proof of a repair that did not happen, claim to speak for a municipality you do not represent, harass other users, use the platform for political campaigning, attempt to circumvent security measures, or use automated systems to interact with the service.

Disclaimer

Baladi Map is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted content or that municipalities will respond to reported issues.

Limitation of Liability

Baladi Map shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
